10:34 < korrosa> Though I'm still confused as to why the address search code is so complex - I've written my own working version of an address search activity using Google's geocoder, and it's a million less lines than Navits' implementation. It also finds the exact address in less than a second whilst Navits' implementation brings up a long list of mostly irrelevant matches after over 30 seconds.
10:35 < korrosa> I'm starting to think that what I thought was an online address search within Navit is actually just a re-implementation of the standard Navit search, as I can't find any references to Google's geocoder within the code.
10:36 < korrosa> If it is, what's the point? I guess it's an attempt to provide a standard Android interface to a Navit function. Seems overly complex to me...!

16:19 < sleske> korrosa: Yes, we don't want to discourage any constructive wiki edits. The advantage of the ConfirmAccount extension is that you just fill in a form, and get an email with your account details once it's approved. No need to send a mail or use IRC.
