I for one would not make the effort to log into the IRC channel of a project I've just found just to ask to set up an account on the wiki. 10:27 < korrosa> But that may be our only option in the end, so we won't rule it out! 10:27 -!- _rd [~rd@p57B48177.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #navit 10:28 < korrosa> Good to see Rikky cleaning up the Android code. I'm starting to wrap my head around Java and Android, but some of the Java code in Navit is still a complete mystery! 10:31 < korrosa> At least the address search no longer crashes Navit on my device - a marked improvement! 10:34 < korrosa> Though I'm still confused as to why the address search code is so complex - I've written my own working version of an address search activity using Google's geocoder, and it's a million less lines than Navits' implementation. It also finds the exact address in less than a second whilst Navits' implementation brings up a long list of mostly irrelevant matches after over 30 seconds. 10:35 < korrosa> I'm starting to think that what I thought was an online address search within Navit is actually just a re-implementation of the standard Navit search, as I can't find any references to Google's geocoder within the code. 10:36 < korrosa> If it is, what's the point? I guess it's an attempt to provide a standard Android interface to a Navit function. Seems overly complex to me...! 10:49 -!- fOB [~fob@ip-178-202-247-64.unitymediagroup.de] has joined #navit 11:02 -!- _rd [~rd@p57B48177.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds] 11:13 -!- _rd [~rd@p57B48177.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #navit 11:43 -!- korrosa [~netbook@host-78-149-3-13.as13285.net] has left #navit [] 11:51 -!- _rd [~rd@p57B48177.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds] 12:11 -!- noradtux [~noradtux@2002:5ce0:3420::1] has quit [Read error: Operation timed out] 12:16 -!- noradtux|away [~noradtux@g231170234.adsl.alicedsl.de] has joined #navit 12:17 -!- noradtux|away is now known as noradtux 12:26 -!- _rd [~rd@p57B48177.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #navit 12:42 -!- _rd [~rd@p57B48177.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 255 seconds] 12:55 -!- noradtux is now known as noradtux|away 12:59 -!- noradtux|away is now known as noradtux 13:03 -!- drlizau [~liz@billiau.net] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 13:10 -!- noradtux is now known as noradtux|away 13:16 -!- sera [~sera@gentoo/developer/sera] has joined #navit 13:20 -!- sera_ [~sera@gentoo/developer/sera] has quit [Ping timeout: 272 seconds] 13:32 -!- Dark_Ebola [~ebola@AToulouse-551-1-88-145.w92-149.abo.wanadoo.fr] has joined #navit 13:57 -!- Dark_Ebola [~ebola@AToulouse-551-1-88-145.w92-149.abo.wanadoo.fr] has quit [Quit: You're just jealous because the voices are talking to me] 15:28 -!- sleske [~sleske@p4FD45755.dip.t-dialin.net] has joined #navit 15:40 -!- efess [~Efess@ool-18bfe031.dyn.optonline.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 272 seconds] 16:19 < sleske> korrosa: Yes, we don't want to discourage any constructive wiki edits.
