Now I would like to know how to do a simple thing, create a route from point A to B. I tried setting a map point as "position" and another point as "destination", but no blue route appears on the map, no directions are given, Any hints ? I still haven't connected a GPS receiver. 14:28 < PiotrCurious> it should work. try setting those point more closer apart 14:29 < trix312> ok, will try. 14:31 < trix312> the navigation seems to have started because there is a "stop navigation" icon, but there is no route. 14:32 < PiotrCurious> how far you set those point apart from eachother? try sth like just next street first 14:33 < trix312> tried about 300km apart , and a few streets apart but i get the same result. 14:33 < PiotrCurious> routing beyond 80km is broken atm 14:34 < trix312> ok, will play around with it later, thanks for now. 14:34 < PiotrCurious> it should work fine for close distances though, but you need to route via routable streets - check if vehicle is set correctly 14:34 < PiotrCurious> (default is car so it should work... and it does here) 14:47 -!- Guest80629 [~rd@p57B499EA.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #navit 15:40 -!- Guest80629 [~rd@p57B499EA.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [] 15:40 -!- Guest80629 [~rd@p57B499EA.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #navit 16:00 -!- Guest80629 [~rd@p57B499EA.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 248 seconds] 16:06 -!- Guest80629 [~rd@p57B499EA.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #navit 16:56 -!- GNUtoo [~gnutoo@90.84.144.224] has joined #navit 16:56 < GNUtoo> hi, if navit segfault could it be my config or a gpsd issue 17:34 < bzed> GNUtoo: … such a question is like asking: if the weather changes, is it the butterfly's fault or because a pack of wheat dropped on a poor chinese guy's head. 17:35 < GNUtoo> I found that yes 17:35 < GNUtoo> the systemd gpsd socket or the libs may be the cause 17:36 < bzed> get a backtrace at least... 17:36 < GNUtoo> yes I have one 17:36 < GNUtoo> http://pastie.org/private/eelq19ozbef3159huhsma 17:36 < GNUtoo> not very complete tough 17:37 < GNUtoo> I'll recompile navit and gpsd 17:37 < bzed> build iwth debug flags 17:54 < GNUtoo> ok 18:18 -!- GNUtoo [~gnutoo@90.84.144.224] has quit [Quit: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.] 18:41 -!- sera_ is now known as sera 18:54 -!- Guest80629 [~rd@p57B499EA.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds] 19:02 -!- sera_ [~sera@gentoo/developer/sera] has joined #navit 19:05 -!- sera [~sera@gentoo/developer/sera] has quit [Ping timeout: 276 seconds] 19:07 < trix312> PiotrCurious: I have tried to make a route for close distances, and default layout is set to car. I have luck building perfect routes of 800 km length and even above in European part of Russia and East Ukraine. In some countries that won't work, especially if you make strong vehicleprofile changes. 21:08 < trix312> thanks tryagain, that was the problem. I didn't read the part about demo vehicle.
