Is it dangerous? Does it hurt the eye? Do I see something inconvenient? 15:44 #navit: < xenos1984> i hope not ;) and even if... i haven't chosen the style, that was Usul1 ;) (but i like it) 15:56 -!- KaZeR_W [~KaZeR_W@64.201.252.130] has joined #navit 16:00 #navit: * Usul1 back from the sunlight :) 16:02 #navit: < Usul1> Hmm, strange the internal GPS works on external tools, but is not recognized by Navit correctly :/ 16:03 #navit: < Usul1> log: "vehicle_wince:initDevice:Waiting to connect to COM2: baudrate=57600" 16:04 #navit: < xenos1984> which device are you using? 16:04 #navit: < xenos1984> ah, wince, obviously... 16:04 #navit: < Usul1> I unlocked my medion S3857 driving a wince core 5.0 16:05 #navit: < Usul1> my 2 new ebay units will arrive this week ;) 16:05 #navit: <@cp15> Have you found out where the routing problem is? 16:05 #navit: < xenos1984> and i guess you already checked the COM port number and baudrate? 16:06 #navit: < Usul1> yes they work with the sirftool :/ 16:07 #navit: < Usul1> sadly Its hard to get any informations within this closed up system 16:08 #navit: <@cp15> sirftool might be dangerous. It might put the gps into sirf mode which cannot be used by navit 16:08 #navit: < Usul1> Here is what my log looks like: http://pastebin.com/jyXBsqTb anybody ideas? :( 16:09 #navit: <@cp15> Obviously COM2: is wrong 16:10 #navit: < Usul1> You pointing on the port or the string itself? 16:10 #navit: <@cp15> The port 16:11 #navit: <@cp15> Have you tried http://www.chartcross.co.uk/products/WM00002_details.asp already? This works quite good in finding out gps settings 16:12 #navit: < Usul1> I will give it a try, but I used this sirfstar tool 16:12 #navit: <@cp15> As I said it might be dangerous 16:12 #navit: < Usul1> and yes it uses COM2: GPS on COM2 (UART3) 16:12 #navit: < Usul1> strange :/ 16:12 #navit: <@cp15> Check whether there is a menu entry or button "Switch to nmea mode" 16:14 #navit: < Usul1> ah, you think they use this properitary sirf3 bin mode? 16:14 #navit: <@cp15> Yep 16:15 #navit: < Usul1> it says it drives NMEA protocol so this seem to be ok 16:15 #navit: <@cp15> Ok, then try gpstest 16:16 #navit: < Usul1> ah damnit, it works only with Windows Mobile 5 16:16 #navit: <@cp15> And you have? 16:16 #navit: < Usul1> WinCE Core5 16:16 #navit: <@cp15> Have you tried installing it? 16:17 #navit: < Usul1> oh, this is a desktop win installer? *douh* 16:17 #navit: <@cp15> Usually it just gives a "This application might not work correctly" warning 16:17 #navit: <@cp15> If I remember correctly you can find the cabs in the installation directory 16:19 #navit: < Usul1> so this was the desktop installer that I run with wine 16:21 #navit: <@cp15> Here seems to be a cab: http://www.smartphonefreeware.org/download/gps-test-1.04 16:21 #navit: < Usul1> yep, but I'm having trouble, as the CE UI makes trouble with dialogs 16:27 #navit: < Usul1> hmm, sorry this gpstest thing is somewhat broken on my wince 16:28 #navit: < Usul1> but this unlocking package contains another tool called gpsscandaten. It conrifms my port settings as well 16:28 #navit: < Usul1> btw how is you work/business going cp15 ? 16:35 #navit: < Usul1> I think I got an idea. My config line seems to be wrong 16:47 #navit: < Usul1> offboard config editing XML sucks -.- 16:54 #navit: < Usul1> So finally I got the thing working and it finished routing 17:00 #navit: <@cp15> So routing isn't defective? 17:00 #navit: < Usul1> I will try to reproduce the defective GPS setup and try againwith simlpy "set position/destination" scenario. At least yesterday it doesn't do anything 17:01 #navit: < Usul1> cp15: What you say about the forums, everything fine? 17:05 #navit: <@cp15> Yes, look good. I still have to look at the posts in detail 17:06 #navit: < Usul1> Don't worry the forum is about helping you to do less support, not more ;) 17:06 #navit: < Usul1> I thought about your hints concerning spending to much time setting up new services 17:06 #navit: < Usul1> maybe you are right and I was wrong ;) 18:15 -!- _rd [~rd@p5088FA05.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #navit 18:46 #navit: < xenos1984> i slightly restructured the forum categories - any feedback is welcome ;) 18:48 #navit: < Usul1> looks very good :) IMHO it reflects the experiences from the first weeks 18:48 #navit: < xenos1984> yes, that was my motivation for these changes ;) 18:58 #navit: < xenos1984> i think a small changes to the forum rules would also be good... the part "for devs only!"
