[11:51:26] not much, yesterday i debugged a lot of navits memory leakes, already fixed some, but others are quite hard [14:11:58] *** Quits: extor (extor@unaffiliated/extor) (Remote host closed the connection) [14:12:17] *** Joins: extor (extor@unaffiliated/extor) [14:55:51] *** Quits: ilovekiruna (~ilovekiru@2a02:8108:d00:110:d96c:93f4:8be1:474b) (Remote host closed the connection) [16:38:53] @jkoan Are some of these memory leaks causing the Raspbery to hang on zoom, pan (arrows),and causing the bookmark file to disappear? [16:39:43] Also show route [16:40:07] i dont think so, but havent looked into it specifically. Is most probably because of read speeds fror the map [16:40:56] @jkoan ??? [16:41:15] because the map loading is to slow [16:42:18] @jkoan I can see that. However I wait a while. [16:43:51] @jkoan also I an running on a 3B+ with a usb stick instead a SD card. [16:45:08] @jkoan also I have sync turned on in fstab so it will write immediately [16:46:02] Does anyone think a 4B 4gig would be better? [16:47:09] for my experience the 3b was really good, but i used an sd card without any special setup for fstab [17:13:38] @jkoan I am going to download a smaller map bonfire. I currently have Colorado, and Wyoming with parts of neighboring states. I will just use the Denver are and Rocky Mountain National Park. The are the area I normally drive in, except on long trips. [17:24:35] I'm also using a 3b, navit's running fine [17:24:59] @Johnk Are there any other performance problems? [17:31:27] I just downloaded a smaller map file 225mb and it runs better. Still slow sometimes [17:37:11] Hmm. What kind of power supply are you running? [17:37:18] Is there a lightning bolt in the top right corner? [17:40:06] 12v - 5v 10Castle BEC. No Lightning bolt. Hoiwever i use Teamvier from my pc for development. I turned if off so I run directly on the RPI. I am doing todays 4 stop route and all seems to be working great. [17:40:40] 12v - v5 10 Amp Castle BEC [17:40:50] Hmm, alright. So that's not it. Thing is this - I have a 4GB map file (Germany) which has no problems [17:41:04] So something is affecting your performance [17:41:12] Which version of navit are you on? [17:41:26] Oh, and what kind of SD card do you have? [17:41:56] USB Stick. I whing teamviewer was the problem [17:42:43] That's definitely possible. If you want to be sure, you can always ssh into the Pi and run htop to see if TeamViewer is using a lot of resources [17:43:27] I thing teamviewer (remote controll over network). All is working great on the native RPI. Thanks all. [17:44:46] I like to do all my work from one system, My AMD Threadripper (16core, 32 therads), 4 ascreens. [17:53:23] Going out on my errands. Should be a good test.
