[11:04:52] *** Joins: barbeque (~barbeque@unaffiliated/barbeque) [11:18:17] does navit have a setting somewhere that basically does "if reported GPS position is less than x meters from calculated route, just assume we are on the route"? (very noticeable at highway intersections) if it's the route_pref option, how does it work? [12:36:22] hi barbeque: yes, i think there is something, but i need to look it up later this day, i will ping you [12:39:18] thx. I'll just await [19:50:01] Do you mean Settings -> Rules -> Lock on Road? [19:50:41] barbeque: Also, what OS are you running navit on? [19:51:56] android, hang on, let me boot the tablet to see what that setting is currently set to (but I think that one just tries to find a nearby road if the GPS says you're in the middle of a field) [19:54:05] lock on road is already enabled (thus does not prevent this from happening) [19:54:11] awww [19:57:50] well i can't even get speech working on windows navit so probably can't help more! [19:58:46] from the docs route_pref might help tho', it says to try 1000-3000 to compensate for dodgy gps [20:00:47] yea I read that bit, I suppose there's no loss in trying, but it would help knowing if that's a value in cm or something else (it mostly happens on highways where for obvious reasons I can't easily debug) [20:03:46] it sounds like it just icreases the weighting of the route rather than some kind of metre-distance compensation [20:09:22] hmm ok. I have to go now (will return ~10 UTC though), I might also try and look a bit at the code tomorrow to deduce how that setting works [20:09:33] *** Quits: barbeque (~barbeque@unaffiliated/barbeque) (Quit: I am a Princess too) [21:22:43] ah, Cyker, it was you i was discussing earlier on speech? [21:32:35] sorry for not following up on the issue
