A new day, a new question ;-) 13:14 < inoculator> maptool: I have a bunch of OSM files covering a specific area. now some small changes have taken place within this. If I download only the area with the changes, how does maptool handle the different version? does it look for the timestamp of a file, does it regognize it at all? 13:19 -!- KaZeR [~kazer@249.170.67.86.rev.sfr.net] has joined #navit 13:25 -!- korrosa [c30285b6@gateway/web/freenode/ip.195.2.133.182] has joined #navit 13:25 < korrosa> inoculator: Unless you've read something to the contrary, I don't think maptool can handle OSM changest xml files. 13:26 < korrosa> You must re-download the entire extract from OSM and process the whole thing using maptool. 13:26 < korrosa> (Though having said that, I'm sure the planet extractor does process changsets - Number6, any comment on that?) 13:44 < inoculator> :korrosa: I have made some changes to OSM last week and the NavIT Extractor needed about 3 days until the change was in the download. Even GeoFabrik needs of course a day or so, and it would be great the check my changes to OSM most recent. 13:46 < inoculator> So this is more or less not a feature or bug question. it is more to learn, how I have to work to be able to double check my uploads and in case of error to correct them before other users are impacted 13:50 -!- odessa2 [~dgoetz@80.149.172.178] has joined #navit 13:53 < korrosa> inoculator: How are you editing OSM - potlatch or JOSM? 13:54 < korrosa> (or Merkaartor!) 13:54 < inoculator> korrosa: potlatch 13:56 < korrosa> OK, so when you say you want to check for errors, what sort of errors do you mean? I think Potlatch does some fairly rudimentary error checking, and I know that JOSM does some very good error checking (cos it bites me on the arse every time!) 14:01 < korrosa> If you really want to check immediately within Navit, then you must extract section from OSM and convert it with maptool. 14:02 < korrosa> You can extract from OSM using the following url schema: 14:03 < korrosa> http://api.openstreetmap.org/api/0.6/map?bbox=LonWest,LatSouth,LonEast,LatNorth 14:03 < korrosa> Where LonWest etc are coordinates in decimal degrees. 14:33 -!- odessa2 [~dgoetz@80.149.172.178] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 14:41 -!- tparcina [~tomo@cisco15.fesb.hr] has left #navit [] 14:41 < inoculator> korrosa: I use "http://overpass.osm.rambler.ru" for download. It is more stable and faster and can generate tiles over 5000 items. I am talking about conventional errors, like using the right street type, setting housnumbers a.s.o. The general syntax is covered through the potlatch gui. Lateron I will see, if I can edit OSM files offline using any other tool. But I am to new to this, to make too many steps at the same time ;-) 14:46 < korrosa> inoculator: Welcome to OSM!! General errors are best checked in Potlatch or JOSM - doing it via Navit is quite a long process! 14:46 < korrosa> For those interested in inoculator's link, see http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Overpass_API 14:50 < inoculator> korrosa: thanka! The editing I have set as a job for me, is very close bound to the job NavIT has to do. So I my checks are more related to the engine, if it can read my changes the way I would expect it. And if not, or worst case goes totaly out of bound, I can roleback those things. 15:23 -!- inoculator [c72af088@gateway/web/freenode/ip.199.42.240.136] has quit [Quit: Page closed] 15:32 -!- efess [~Efess@ool-18bfe031.dyn.optonline.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 246 seconds] 15:52 -!- kondrat1206 [~kondrat12@95.158.60.3] has quit [Quit: QIP Infium IRC protocol->http://forum.qip.ru] 16:21 -!- cezaryzukowski [86e23807@gateway/web/freenode/ip.134.226.56.7] has joined #navit 16:21 < cezaryzukowski> Hi Guys 16:26 -!- udovdh [~udovdh@pindarots.xs4all.nl] has quit [Quit: Leaving] 16:31 -!- udovdh [~udovdh@pindarots.xs4all.nl] has joined #navit 16:50 -!- kondrat1206 [~kondrat12@94.158.82.8] has joined #navit 16:50 -!- korrosa [c30285b6@gateway/web/freenode/ip.195.2.133.182] has quit [Quit: Page closed] 16:51 -!- AngusRF [~Angus@mnch-5d86c88e.pool.mediaWays.net] has joined #navit 17:12 -!- fOB [~fob@ip-178-202-247-64.unitymediagroup.de] has joined #navit 17:13 -!- Dark_Ebola [~ebola@AToulouse-551-1-151-145.w109-214.abo.wanadoo.fr] has joined #navit 17:28 -!- efess [~Efess@ool-18bfe031.dyn.optonline.net] has joined #navit 18:10 -!- cezaryzukowski [86e23807@gateway/web/freenode/ip.134.226.56.7] has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds] 18:33 -!- pstan [~pstan@pool-71-189-51-192.lsanca.fios.verizon.net] has joined #navit 18:35 < pstan> greetings, I have navit running on f16 and f16 from svn and noticed after compiling with cmake, make that I missed a prereq. saxon-scripts I wonder what this prereq is, as navit seems to work just fine with navit planet extractor 18:40 -!- playya__ [~playya@unaffiliated/playya] has joined #navit 18:40 -!- playya_ [~playya@unaffiliated/playya] has quit [Read error: Operation timed out] 18:49 -!- qrz7 [~pku@ppp-88-217-100-65.dynamic.mnet-online.de] has joined #navit 19:22 -!- drlizau [~liz@billiau.net] has joined #navit 19:22 -!- drlizau [~liz@billiau.net] has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer] 19:42 -!- AngusRF [~Angus@mnch-5d86c88e.pool.mediaWays.net] has quit [Quit: Verlassend] 20:01 -!- pstan [~pstan@pool-71-189-51-192.lsanca.fios.verizon.net] has left #navit [] 20:12 -!- zoff99 [~chatzilla@84.114.125.186] has joined #navit 20:13 * zoff99 says helllo ... 20:13 < zoff99> who is number 1 ? 20:23 -!- zoff99 [~chatzilla@84.114.125.186] has quit [Quit: ChatZilla 0.9.86-rdmsoft [XULRunner 1.9.1/20090707221522]] 22:54 < curious> hmm, someone told me once how to scroll in search results 22:55 < curious> i forgot... 22:55 < curious> town search results 22:58 < curious> ah, found at least howto hide keyboard 23:13 < curious> damn, i have one road which i want to avoid, and logically i would just add traffic distortion 23:13 < curious> but i don't know how to do it with just internal/wince gui 23:17 -!- cezaryzukowski [86e23807@gateway/web/freenode/ip.134.226.56.7] has joined #navit 23:25 -!- Dark_Ebola [~ebola@AToulouse-551-1-151-145.w109-214.abo.wanadoo.fr] has quit [Quit: You're just jealous because the voices are talking to me] 23:43 < curious> tried to add distortion.txt created on real computer to 'data' dir but it does not work 23:43 < curious> hmm, perhaps it's not included in xml 23:46 < curious> damn, yeah 23:47 < curious> inability to edit distortion.txt and block roads is big issue in general 23:49 < curious> ok, now traffic distortion is displayed correct 23:49 < curious> but it still routes via blocked road 23:49 < curious> wtf --- Log closed Sat Mar 17 00:00:39 2012
