I downloaded "navit-current.apk" and selected the "Download first map" option, with thee "UK" map area. It said it was around 250 megabytes, but it continued past "100%" to download a 347 megabyte file. When it finished I still had a blank map. What have I done wrong? 01:41 -!- efess [~Efess@ool-18bfe031.dyn.optonline.net] has joined #navit 05:02 -!- noradtux|away [~noradtux@2002:5ce0:3e61::1] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 05:08 -!- noradtux|away [~noradtux@2002:5ce0:3edc::1] has joined #navit 05:09 -!- noradtux|away is now known as noradtux 06:17 -!- Guest82264 [~rd@p57B49299.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #navit 06:43 -!- Guest82264 [~rd@p57B49299.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds] 06:58 -!- tparcina [~tomo@cisco15.fesb.hr] has joined #navit 08:35 -!- InBar [~v@77.242.201.57] has joined #navit 08:42 -!- Guest_ [d913bf96@gateway/web/freenode/session] has joined #navit 08:45 -!- odessa2 [~dgoetz@80.149.172.178] has joined #navit 08:48 -!- Guest_ [d913bf96@gateway/web/freenode/session] has left #navit [] 09:26 -!- tryagain [529762b6@gateway/web/freenode/ip.82.151.98.182] has joined #navit 09:40 -!- korrosa [c3028868@gateway/web/freenode/ip.195.2.136.104] has joined #navit 09:40 < korrosa> dTal: Are there any *.bin files in /sdcard/navit/ ? 10:06 -!- Guest82264 [~rd@p57B49299.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #navit 10:11 -!- playya_ [~playya@unaffiliated/playya] has quit [Read error: No route to host] 10:11 -!- playya_ [~playya@unaffiliated/playya] has joined #navit 10:34 -!- Guest82264 [~rd@p57B49299.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit [Ping timeout: 248 seconds] 10:53 < dTal> korrosa: yes, navitmap.bin. 10:59 < maefo> Hello korrosa. To be honest, I'm not that pro at Eclipse, and am only just starting to get my head around it too... 13:50 < maefo> OK, thanks! 14:03 -!- efess [~Efess@ool-18bfe031.dyn.optonline.net] has joined #navit 14:08 < dTal> korrosa: no, I didn't think to try it with GPS on. Be warned it's not complete, as I had no success building Navit from Eclipse. 15:20 < tryagain> dTal You may try find a place with search. Go to the main menu (click on the map, then home icon on the left upper corner), select Actions, then Town. And try entering a town name. If no success, look at the flag displayed to the left of the search field. 15:21 < tryagain> korrosa Have you some success crashing my recent commits? 15:21 < dTal> I did try searching for a town, with no result 15:22 < tryagain> dTal What country have you downloaded and what flag is displayed to the left of the search string input field? 15:23 < tryagain> To change country, press that flag. 15:24 < dTal> ooh, I didn't know you had to do that 15:24 < dTal> I thought it was like Google Maps 15:24 < dTal> okay I'm going outside now 15:25 < tryagain> good luck 15:26 < korrosa> tryagain: The only crashes I've managed to have is because of my crappy code attempts within java. And there have been a lot! 15:27 < korrosa> I've also had no success building Navit directly from Eclipse for Android (I just use make and make apkg from the terminal), but I have used the instructions successfully to import the project to Eclipse in the first place..! 15:28 < korrosa> I haven't found a good flow to update Navit from SVN yet without a full CMake though... 15:28 < korrosa> Seeing as the svn folder and the build folder are two different things. Perhaps this shows how green I am to all of this! 15:36 < tryagain> korrosa I think I have added a feature you should like. Have you tried the brand new "Show results on the map" button when viewing an item from the lengthy search result list? 15:36 < tryagain> Though it needs some visual design improvements. 15:39 -!- playya__ [~playya@unaffiliated/playya] has joined #navit 15:40 < korrosa> tryagain: No, I haven't actually, though I saw you implemented the feature. Because I've modified navit.xml beyond recognition I have to merge the changes manually, but I'll get to it and report back! 15:43 -!- playya_ [~playya@unaffiliated/playya] has quit [Ping timeout: 248 seconds] 15:43 < tryagain> Well, there's only slight change for the xml (new item added to all layouts) and that is what needs redesign. If you find a nice looking solution, please commit it. 15:53 -!- odessa2 [~dgoetz@80.149.172.178] has quit [Quit: Verlassend] 15:56 < dTal> okay, I couldn't get a GPS fix, and there is no visible flag in the interface - however while stumbling around I found a "search for town" feature and that worked. 15:58 < dTal> There are some strangely blank interface elements. All corners have a tranlucent gray square, except the upper left corner which has the zoom buttons and the lower right which has a white circle outline in the square. 16:01 < dTal> Ah I see, those ar route related. 16:02 < dTal> Thanks guys! 16:06 -!- InBar [~v@77.242.201.57] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] 16:37 < tryagain> korrosa> I haven't found a good flow to update Navit from SVN yet without a full CMake though... 16:37 < tryagain> Why do you not satisfied with just running make in the build directory after svn up in the source one? 16:38 < tryagain> *Why are 16:39 < tryagain> btw both directories may be the same unless you'd ike to build same code for different targets. 16:40 < tryagain> *like 16:40 -!- tryagain [529762b6@gateway/web/freenode/ip.82.151.98.182] has quit [Quit: Page closed] 17:56 -!- AngusRF [~Angus@mnch-4d0da079.pool.mediaWays.net] has joined #navit 18:01 -!- tryagain [3e21ef82@gateway/web/freenode/ip.62.33.239.130] has joined #navit 18:16 < korrosa> tryagain: Hold on, hold on - svn up in src directory means that the build directory gets updated? Woah. 18:19 < tryagain> svn up in src directory means that source used to build everything in build directory is updated. And if foo.c is updated in source directory, then corresponding foo.o in build directory will be rebuilt on next "make" run. 18:23 < tryagain> btw you shouldnt have any *.c and *.h files in your build directory (except ones autogenerated during build like config.h). 18:25 < korrosa> Ah, OK, that's how it works. Indeed I don't have any .c or .h files in my build directory, which is why I was a little confused. 18:25 < korrosa> So svn up in src directory updates only those files in the src directory. 18:26 < korrosa> Then make in build directory pulls from source directory to update, and re-build the binary. 18:26 < korrosa> Got it. 18:28 < korrosa> Well, you learn something every day. 18:28 < korrosa> Thanks!! 18:29 -!- korrosa [c3028868@gateway/web/freenode/ip.195.2.136.104] has quit [Quit: Page closed] 18:57 -!- korrosa [~netbook@host-78-145-255-33.as13285.net] has joined #navit 19:41 -!- noradtux is now known as noradtux|away 19:47 < korrosa> tryagain: Have you built successfully recently? 19:47 < korrosa> I'm getting http://pastebin.com/TtbW8njV 19:47 < korrosa> I may have to start over again... 19:49 < CIA-49> sleske * r5003 /trunk/navit/navit/ (4 files in 2 dirs): Add:xpm:New SVGs menu.svg, toggle_fullscreen.svg, some xpm->svg transitions fixed.|Taken from #877; thanks themroc! 19:49 < tryagain> I do not run make install 19:50 < tryagain> I just build and run from source directory 19:53 < tryagain> s/source/build/ 19:59 < korrosa> Hm, you clever people. 20:00 < korrosa> Actually, so do I.
