19:59 < sleske> This is a well-known problem in Navit: Navit's search does not use exact city boundaries - it just searches a certain radius around the city center (if I recall correctly).
19:59 < sleske> As a consequence, streets far from the centre are often not found.
20:00 < sleske> You can try to give the name of the suburb (in this case Gompitz) instead of Dresden, that should work.
20:00 < sleske> See http://trac.navit-project.org/ticket/794 - this describes the same problem.
20:01 < sleske> Only there the effect is the opposite: A street is considered part of Düsseldorf, but is really just beyond the border.

23:59 < DocPlatypus> okay... just now experimenting with this program, with a decent extract of OSM data covering my local area (probably much bigger than I actually need for this)... and I ran into a problem. a good huge chunk of the city looks like its underwater, probably some kind of tiling error
