08:52 < andyrd> Hi all. I have a quick question for you. I have setup the odometer on my android navit with disable_reset="1". Instead of adding a button I would like to add the reset command to the tools menu. I have done this but it doesnt seem to work. Anyone tried this?
08:54 < andyrd> In the tools menu section I have the following
08:55 < andyrd>
Reset Odo

09:02 < tryagain> andyrd have you tried ...onclick='osd.odometer_reset(...
09:03 < andyrd> No but will give it a go now thanks.

09:32 <@cp15> andyrd, try navit.odometer_reset(...)
09:39 < andyrd> OK will try thanks.
09:41 < andyrd> Hmm that didnt work either. I will try it as a button as well but would really like it to be a menu item.
09:44 <@cp15> Ok, I will do some tests why it doesn't work
09:47 < andyrd> Many thanks @cp15, one more qq
09:48 < andyrd> Should this work even without a lock on location or planned route?
09:48 < andyrd> As it is a counter reset I thought it should
09:50 <@cp15> I guess it should
10:09 <@cp15> Hmm... The disable_reset disables resetting the osd at all
10:10 <@cp15> This works for me:
10:10 <@cp15>
Reset Odo
10:10 <@cp15> disable_reset="0" />
10:12 <@cp15> The disable_reset="0" would also enable "reset on double click". If this is a problem for you we can redefine disable_reset as an integer
10:13 < andyrd> I will try with disable_reset="0" as currently this is set to "1" but the rest is the same for me. Will try now.
10:15 < andyrd> OK that works, however doesnt work with disable_reset="1"
10:16 <@cp15> Yes, the disable_reset="1" disables resetting both by double click and by command
10:16 < andyrd> Many thanks for the help. Is there a way to get this to work with disable_reset="1". As per the OSD wiki this should work.
10:20 <@cp15> Either the code or the wiki is wrong
10:23 <@cp15> The odometer_reset also stops the odometer... Is that what you want?
10:27 < andyrd> Yes sort of. It isnt a real problem, On the wiki it states if you set the disable_reset you cant double click but can setup a button to reset it, I thought instead of a button I would use a menu. However from what you have said and proved with the above that isnt the case.
10:27 < andyrd> I guess the wiki is incorrect at this time.
10:28 <@cp15> Well, as it is the disable_reset doesn't make much sense
10:28 < andyrd> Just as a FYI I also use the autostart function on the odometer
10:28 < andyrd> Yes I agree
10:28 < andyrd> Many thanks for looking at this tho.
10:29 <@cp15> So I guess I will change the code
10:30 < andyrd> It would be nice to have a odo that didnt reset unless you explicitly want to.
10:31 < andyrd> via a menu or button
10:31 < andyrd> other than a double click
10:31 < andyrd> or after a quit / exit
10:32 <@cp15> I have fixed the bug. You can download a new version in about an hour at http://download.navit-project.org/navit/android_armv5te/svn/
10:32 < andyrd> nice one. Many thanks

11:55 < Tauso> Hello, i have a little navigation problem with navit, but i don't know, if its a navit problem or a problem with the map data. I used navit (svn 5221) on an android device with osm data from planet extractor. I tried to route from Vienna (Austria) to Dresden (Germany). Navit suggests a route around the Czech republic, which is almost 200 kms and an hour longer than through the Czech Republic. Profil for routing was "car (the first one in the list) and not
12:17 < drlizau> if you have an old version of navit, it is a navit routing problem
12:18 < drlizau> there is a very very new version which should deal with this
12:19 < Tauso> I have svn version 5221 which is 2012/08/29. Newer than this?
12:19 < drlizau> i think so
12:19 < drlizau> but you need to be sure that the data is also very new
12:20 < Tauso> Map data was extracted on 2012/09/03
12:20 < drlizau> ok
12:22 < Tauso> but the navit.xml is from an old svn version with some editing of osd items. could this be a problem?
12:22 < drlizau> not sure
12:23 < Tauso> For SVN Version 5219 it says : "Fix:core:Allow route over any known way type specified in current vehicleprofile even if it's default flags are not hardcoded into default_flags2 of item.c." Are these vehicleprofiles stored in the navit.xml?
12:25 < drlizau> no idea
12:25 < drlizau> i just recall a post on this channel very recently about a breakthrough in the routing problem
12:25 < drlizau> but its not in my irc history
12:26 < Tauso> ok thanks for the info, so i will try a new version of the navit.xml.

12:39 < antiram> r5224 doesnt reset time like the others (max, avg..). After reset odometer is in stop mode and i have to start again each item by hand. ticket:1029 has a solution, works like my bike tacho.

13:23 <@cp15> Tauso, most likely that is because of the osm license change. They probably removed an important road piece
13:25 <@cp15> Also czech republic is quite buggy
13:28 < Tauso> Possible, but almost the whole route is on highways ore expressways. These roads should be correct in open street maps.

15:49 < tryagain> Tauso Problem is that at some places you have to use low-priority road in the middle of the way to go from one highway to another. But navit by default will ignore these in the middle of the way.
15:51 < tryagain> Since svn 5216 (and corresponding navit.xml) you may switch to car_pedantic profile, and, if you have enough fortune, have the route built. Or just run out of memory if you're not so lucky.
15:54 < tryagain> vehicleprofile is stored inside navit.xml but 5219 is not the patch of your interest unless you going to route by e.g. alpine hiking path, and have modified your navit.xml appropriately.

20:59 < tryagain_> I've done a patch to report route graph statistics. Kiev->Moscow route graph built with car profile has 108846 points (and maximum 33 point hash collisions per value). There are 128684 edges in the route graph.
21:02 < tryagain_> With car_pedantic graph has 694663 points, 890990 edges, and maximum 121 point hash collisions per hash value.
