11:10 #navit: < marioso> my localization is italian, but some settings are in english still (for example the profiles in settings->vehicle; rules settings, and "former destination") how can i have it translated?
11:11 #navit: < woglinde> marioso did you check out latest rev?
11:12 #navit: < woglinde> I fixed a localization error when internal gui menu got splitted up

11:52 #navit: < Tauso> Is there an easy way to handle the problem described here: http://trac.navit-project.org/ticket/745?
11:53 #navit: < Tauso> I've download a map from the planet extractor covering the south-west of the USA (California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona) and half of Arizona is "under water" ;-)
11:54 #navit: < Tauso> Is there a downloadable coastline.bin somewhere or an easy way to generate it by myself?

12:27 #navit: < Maddin_R> @ TryAgain
12:27 #navit: < Maddin_R> Sorry ... I am only now occurred to me, take a look at the log from 09/01/2013 and search to my name and saw your note just now.
12:27 #navit: < Maddin_R> The navigation is not altogether broken. Only the notes are different. Voice and direction sign say's "left", Green marked route says "right". The same problem I had now at another Highway-Crossing. It's also the same situation. I want turn right again onto the new highway... effect is the same with wrong announcements or notes. "Green route " is right again.
12:27 #navit: < Maddin_R> Important hint to your Ticket/Comment #10: There's no multiple or overlapped maps installed at my phone. I am still in Test and installed is only one german map.
12:33 #navit: < Maddin_R> BTW: I have ready created my own OSD-Section inside Navit.xml. It seems to be really good to me and runs perfectly. It is specially designed to my Galaxy S3 and his resolution. I'm already happy about this. ;-)

12:45 #navit: < woglinde> Tauso problem is with osmdata which has some not closed castlines
12:45 #navit: < woglinde> tauso fixing the osm data would fix this error
13:25 #navit: < Tauso> but how do i find the problematic data in osm, which causes the problem.
13:28 #navit: < woglinde> tauso yeah thats tricky do you know the application josm?
13:28 #navit: < woglinde> the java osm data editor?
13:28 #navit: < woglinde> it as a checker for releations
13:28 #navit: < Tauso> I've read about it, but never used it.
13:29 #navit: < woglinde> but it will not download your whole section
13:29 #navit: < woglinde> so its really hard to find the problem
13:30 #navit: < Tauso> this weekend i'll try to download some parts of the map, so maybe i could track it down to an smaller area. thanks for the info.
13:31 #navit: < woglinde> tauso you can use maptool to convert the oms data to the navit vector format
13:31 #navit: < woglinde> so you dont need to wait a day until the maps server converted it automagicly
13:32 #navit: < Tauso> if done that yesterday with data from geofabrik

15:56 #navit: < woglinde> hi tryagain
15:56 #navit: < tryagain> hi woglinde
15:57 #navit: < tryagain> did you know: if you press on the water_tiled area and go to attributes, you can get osm_wayid of a buggy coastline item
16:01 #navit: < tryagain> woglinde for example, http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/157217675 seems to leak some water in Colorado.
16:03 #navit: < woglinde> hehe
16:03 #navit: < woglinde> tell not me
16:04 #navit: < woglinde> ah cool
16:04 #navit: < woglinde> good to know
16:04 #navit: < woglinde> the buggy id
16:04 #navit: < woglinde> is it in the wiki?
16:04 #navit: < tryagain> it's in the recent channel logs :)
16:05 #navit: < woglinde> nah
16:05 #navit: < woglinde> thats not good enough
16:06 #navit: < woglinde> should be in wiki under problem with maps "help, I only see water"
16:06 #navit: < tryagain> i think somebody should post it there...
16:07 #navit: < woglinde> I will do it later
16:08 #navit: < tryagain> unfortunately we'll see only one wayid while there are might be much more...
16:08 #navit: < woglinde> sure but when you fixed one
16:08 #navit: < woglinde> you can see the next
16:08 #navit: < woglinde> thats better than random probing
16:09 #navit: < tryagain> :)
16:10 #navit: < woglinde> hm ro bad he is not on anymore
16:10 #navit: < tryagain> is there any way to tag an isle inside water landuse polygon without using multipoygon relations?
16:11 #navit: < woglinde> sorry no idea
16:11 #navit: < woglinde> maybee ask usul
16:11 #navit: < tryagain> I think there's actually no way.
16:18 #navit: < tryagain> when fixing such bugs, we should not test relations, as we AFAIK do not process water relations. We should rather search isles tagged with coastline, which have no surrounding water tagged with coastline.
16:19 #navit: < tryagain> Disclaimer: I do not have much fixing and analysing expirence, bu i believe in above :)
16:25 -!- DebianUser [51bd3906@gateway/web/freenode/ip.81.189.57.6] has joined #navit
16:25 #navit: < DebianUser> Hello guys!
16:26 #navit: < tryagain> hi
16:26 #navit: < DebianUser> I'm getting in trouble while compiling navit on debian squeeze from the latest svn
16:27 #navit: < woglinde> whats your trouble?
16:27 #navit: < DebianUser> it stops by generating osm_bbox_11.3....xyz - with an error telling me permission denied on maptool
16:28 #navit: < woglinde> hm disable sample map
16:28 #navit: < woglinde> as workaround
16:28 #navit: < woglinde> or manually chmod maptool
16:29 #navit: < tryagain> why the hell it can have wrong perms?
16:29 #navit: < DebianUser> maptool has the correct permissions (the user compiling it)
16:29 #navit: < DebianUser> @tryagain - that make me weird too
16:30 #navit: < DebianUser> how do i disable the sample map?
16:34 #navit: < tryagain> Dont know exact option to disable it... Do you compile it on the root filesystem or on some removable storage?
16:35 #navit: < tryagain> exec permissions might be disabled for whole volume
16:36 #navit: < DebianUser> removeable sd-card, that makes sense i tried to make it executeable
16:36 #navit: < woglinde> if you use autotools configure --help
16:36 #navit: < woglinde> ah
16:36 #navit: < woglinde> haha
16:36 #navit: < woglinde> yes noexec mount option
16:37 #navit: < woglinde> till later
16:37 #navit: < tryagain> see ya
16:38 #navit: < DebianUser> cu - thanks!
16:38 #navit: < DebianUser> well... so i'll try to remount the card..
16:42 #navit: < DebianUser> no chance...so navit moves to my home dir :-)
16:42 #navit: < DebianUser> thx tryagain!
16:46 #navit: < tryagain> doesnt it help: sudo mount /dev/sdh1 -o remount,exec
16:47 #navit: < tryagain> where /dev/sdh1 is your device
16:47 #navit: < tryagain> while it's already mounted
16:47 #navit: < DebianUser> i wanted navit on the sd due to the memory of an Asus EEE PC 701 :-)
16:48 #navit: < tryagain> then remount the sdcard
16:48 #navit: < tryagain> http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OSM_Inspector/Views/Coastline
16:48 #navit: < tryagain> that's for woglinde
16:49 #navit: < DebianUser> seems like debian does not like to mount fat volumes with exec option
16:50 #navit: < DebianUser> last option would be changing the fs on the card
16:52 #navit: < tryagain> what perms does it show when you do ls -l
16:53 #navit: < DebianUser> on /maptool/maptool ?
16:54 #navit: < tryagain> yes
16:54 #navit: < DebianUser> -rw-r--r--
16:54 #navit: < DebianUser> no exec
16:55 #navit: < tryagain> hm... what if you mount -o remount,umask=000
16:55 #navit: < DebianUser> chmod +x and ls -l again shows the same
16:56 #navit: < tryagain> fat doesnt support setting unix attrs for individual files
17:00 #navit: < tryagain> woglinde http://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=coastline seems to be very usable tool to find water leaking coastlines
17:01 #navit: < DebianUser> makes no difference - permission denied
17:03 #navit: < DebianUser> maybe debian has this behavior due to security reasons...
17:09 #navit: < tryagain> well thats the defaults for security reasons but they should be switchable/ maybe i'm wrong with mount options.
17:10 #navit: < tryagain> have the file permissions changed after remounting it?
17:14 #navit: < DebianUser> nope
17:15 #navit: < DebianUser> sry... the umask changed/has been added
17:16 #navit: < DebianUser> but no change when i add exec option to the file
17:18 #navit: < tryagain> try this: mount /dev/sdh1 -o remount,fmask=000
17:21 #navit: < DebianUser> still no difference
17:21 #navit: < DebianUser> but don't worry i'll give up and move navit to my home dir...
17:25 #navit: < tryagain> ok
17:25 #navit: < DebianUser> thanks anyway!
17:57 #navit: < DebianUser> bye!

18:51 #navit: < Maddin_R> Is it possible to save a route to start, via points and destination as a bookmark?
18:52 #navit: < Maddin_R> Sometimes I want to avoid specific roads, eg in Belgium/Antwerpen through the Kennedy tunnel. I prefer the small detour to the Liefkenshoek-
18:53 #navit: < woglinde> hm
18:53 #navit: < Maddin_R> Tunnel. . I want to enter the target, insert the "Visit-Before" points, and save all of them to the bookmarks. How do I do it?
18:53 #navit: < woglinde> you could do it via dbus
18:53 #navit: < woglinde> but not with the actual bookmark system I think
18:57 #navit: <@cp15> It is possible
18:57 #navit: < Maddin_R> *oooops*... thanks... i have found it in wiki. not an easy way
18:57 #navit: <@cp15> You can create a bookmark folder, add the wanted destinations there and then select "Use bookmarks as destinations"
18:58 #navit: < Maddin_R> aah... that seems a little bit easier
18:58 #navit: < tryagain> Maddin_R What's the uneasy way have you fund on the wiki?
18:58 #navit: <@cp15> DBUS
18:59 #navit: < Maddin_R> google -> navit dbus
18:59 #navit: < Maddin_R> found wiki, found commands, not gui
18:59 #navit: < tryagain> ok
19:00 #navit: < woglinde> hi cp15
19:00 #navit: <@cp15> Hi woglinde, thanks for fixing the gettext issue
19:00 #navit: < woglinde> sure
19:01 #navit: < woglinde> I wondered why in the search housenumber was not translated
19:01 #navit: < woglinde> but the plural
19:03 #navit: < Maddin_R> to create a route is not easy.... i have to look, that all streets are good for caravans. default-car-settings drives a driver crazy.... :-)... thats not a navit-prob, thats a prob of all navi-systems, which not support a truck
19:04 #navit: < Maddin_R> I try it with the bookmark-folder. if it works, its a good solution
19:06 #navit: <@cp15> Navit supports trucks
19:06 #navit: <@cp15> But I think the osm mapping is not yet useable for this
19:09 #navit: < tryagain> I have updated http://wiki.navit-project.org/index.php/Troubleshooting#Incomplete_Coastlines_within_OSM_Data
19:09 #navit: < Maddin_R> how it is possible, that navit support trucks, if the map don't do it too
19:09 #navit: < woglinde> tryagan thanks
19:10 #navit: < xenos1984> i guess the OSM data needs more information on maxheight, incline, width of roads
19:13 #navit: < Maddin_R> sorry
19:13 #navit: < Maddin_R> not necessarily. it is usually sufficient, as far as possible just to keep the big roads, highway, road nationwide .... and the small side streets to avoid.
19:13 #navit: < woglinde> navit can weight this
19:13 #navit: < woglinde> look at the profiles
19:14 #navit: < woglinde> in the navit.xml
19:16 #navit: < Maddin_R> I know. that's the reason, why I am working so intense with navit and it is really fun to do this
19:17 #navit: < Maddin_R> I have another little problem. my navit.xml contains this following statement:
19:17 #navit: < woglinde> yes?
19:17 #navit: < woglinde> there is only be one mapset active
19:18 #navit: < woglinde> I think the last mapset activated wins
19:19 #navit: < Maddin_R> my sdcarte contains other maps, eg france, netherlands, belgium
19:19 #navit: < Maddin_R> but i cannot set a target in france
19:19 #navit: < woglinde> deactivate the other maps and try again
19:19 #navit: < Maddin_R> oops... how i switch to another mapset?
19:20 #navit: < Maddin_R> there is no option to deactivate via navit-gui
19:21 #navit: < Maddin_R> navit don't list the saved maps. there ist also only a hint to *.bin
19:26 #navit: < woglinde> hm better define a mapset and make an entry for everymap
19:30 #navit: < Maddin_R> this is very strange. I'm in Germany, I just Paris, France entered as a destination. Below the compass is now 452 km shown ... it fits in about, airline .... realllly it is 580 km. but how navit know this, if it not read the map? the map is not displayed,
19:33 #navit: < woglinde> maybee problem with overlapping maps
19:35 #navit: < Maddin_R> individual entries I've had a few days ago .... but another thing stopped work correctly, and someone here gave me the council, to avoid multiple map and set to *.bin" ... * lol * ... which is probably correct?
19:36 #navit: < woglinde> its still multiple maps
19:36 #navit: < Maddin_R> yes, that was the problem. how do i solve this?
19:37 #navit: < woglinde> juse our mapserver and download the map at whole
19:37 #navit: < woglinde> with your bounds defined

19:40 #navit: < Maddin_R> is it a way, to define one large map whole europe. then it is only one mapset, if i drive from german through niederland, belgium to france? or is that mapset to large to calculate a long distance it from navit?
19:40 #navit: < woglinde> depends
19:40 #navit: < woglinde> but mostly it will work
19:40 #navit: < woglinde> if not set waypoints
