It runs but I can not get any maps to load. bin file downloaded from planet extractor complain about something 64 (forgot to copy the exact message). I tried downloading a OSM file and converting using maptool, but it gets killed at some point during the process. 20:46 #navit: <+Navit> Any hints ? WOuld love to run 0.5.3 but could not find packages for Raspbian. I was able to compile it but would not compile in the GTK drivers because of a missinf FreeType lib that I did not find... Kinda stuck 20:55 #navit: <+Navit> Hi @IndianaTux I am sorry you encountered so many problems. For processing the map your self using maptool it would be a good idea to switch to a more powerful pc since this takes a long time even there. Bug generally it should not be needed (maps are basically zip files with binary data in it, that's why it is called binfile). For your 64 error message it would be great if you could try to reproduce it and 20:55 #navit: <+Navit> provide us the message. 20:57 #navit: <+Navit> Lastly for the freetype issue I can't say much, but do you really need gtk or would a direct renderer to frame buffer with raspberry Pi gpu support also work for you? (no x overhead and direct full-screen) 20:59 #navit: <+Navit> @jkoan yeah I need X for this application as I run an Electron app on the front-end 21:00 #navit: <+Navit> I'll get you the 64 error message 21:00 #navit: <+Navit> Thx for getting the error message :) 21:01 #navit: <+Navit> So you want to embedd navit in your electron app? 21:04 #navit: <+Navit> well, not enbedding it no, that was too complet. What I did if start navit , then my full screen electron app. When calling navit I switch focus to it and just leave a small electron window at the top covering the title bar with a back button to go back to my full screen electron app 21:08 #navit: <+Navit> I am asking because navit is able to be pulled into a other window at least on Sdl driver 21:10 #navit: <+Navit> interesting 21:11 #navit: <+Navit> I'm downloading a very small map to reproduce the error (http://maps9.navit-project.org/api/map/?bbox=-74.0,45.4,-73.4,45.7) 21:13 #navit: <+Navit> https://wiki.navit-project.org/index.php/Embedding there is at least a qt example and a gtk example is also referred. So my memory of Sdl was probably not right 21:15 #navit: <+Navit> Interesting I'll for sure give it a try 21:17 #navit: <+Navit> Ok here is what I have: 21:17 #navit: <+Navit> pi@raspberrypi:~ $ navit -d 1 error:navit:xinclude:Unable to include /usr/share/navit/maps/*.xml warning:map_binfile:binfile_read_eoc64:map file /home/pi/maps/montreal.bin: eocl wrong warning:navit:command_object_get_attr:cannot retrieve attributes from none ((nil)), func=(nil) warning:navit:command_get_attr:could not retrieve 'name' from 'none' 21:26 #navit: <+Navit> I know it's just a warning, but map loading does not seem to work cause I can't search any city or nothing 21:28 #navit: <+Navit> @jkoan hope it hints you to something 21:31 #navit: <+Navit> Hm, strange, I have never seen this error message as far as I know. Probably @KaZeR could help because ie is in the team mutch longer than me 21:32 #navit: <+Navit> Ok thanks for the help guys ! 21:34 #navit: <+Navit> Would it be better to open a issue in github ? 21:38 #navit: <+Navit> For the 64 error? Or the freetype thing? Probably yes 21:41 #navit: <+Navit> the eoc64 error yes 21:46 #navit: <+Navit> @jkoan @KaZeR ticket created: https://github.com/navit-gps/navit/issues/736 21:47 #navit: <+Navit> Thx, we will try to keep track of it. But I can't give an Eta 21:50 #navit: <+Navit> thanks. 22:04 -!- xenos1984 [~xenos1984@62.1.171.210] has quit [Ping timeout: 272 seconds] 22:29 #navit: <+Navit> Other people seem able to compile but I cannot. 22:57 #navit: <+Navit> OK, I think I know what my problem has been. At some point the "lag" option for went away. But not knowing this, I left it in my navit.xml. And navit bombed at run time. Shouldn't an XML parser simply ignore unused options? 23:01 #navit: <+Navit> I confirm your fix for gpsd 1.8 & higher. That's the same code I had, and it works on Debian 9.7. --- Log closed Fri Jan 25 00:00:59 2019
