If generated a map of Spain and Portugal with maptool, and the North half of the map is blue. [08:09:09] Please see my comment here: https://trac.navit-project.org/ticket/745#comment:30 [08:09:50] I need help finding where is the error in OSM data, I don't know what to look at (I've tried) [08:12:07] Also, it would be great if something can be done in maptool to detect this errors in OSM data and avoid them, but of course I don't know how easy this could be. And the binfile format (behind the zip) [16:51:04] hi kazer, hi jkoan, hi jandegr [16:51:24] if built on circleci, combine the parts from the artefacts to one binfile, no need to if you run maptool at home [16:51:46] jkoan: have you seen that my VM is successfully running? [16:54:09] ilovekiruna, yes i have [16:55:21] naggety a sample with osmconvert https://circleci.com/gh/jandegr/navit/3572#artifacts/containers/0 [17:08:07] nagetty sometimes the issue can also have come from cut rivers or lakes, if using osmconvert you can try to modify the poly to go around or cut the river or lake in some other place [17:08:35] if you get this when using osmium tool I can not give a solution [17:09:15] ** go around to cuth the river or lake elsewhere, [17:09:32] jandegr, does navit binfile stores one river in multiple items? [17:10:46] if it comes from a relation it discards it all together [17:11:17] if it is made up of simple areas I think they are processed as-is and not split [17:11:39] IIRC only ocean is clipped [17:12:20] hence it is why I gave up on the rivers from relations last year or so [17:12:39] I ended up with rivers of hundreds of kilometers long [17:12:56] had no time to modify it to clip it in smaller parts [17:13:11] however there is code for that present in maptool [17:13:30] write item bin clipped , or smth like that IIRC [17:15:39] i think you know that i had the idea to rewrite the map extractor, i think we can improve the extraction process so mutch that this problem will be gone after this. Just look at each item if it contains one coord within the selected area (does not need to be a rect) then keep it, if not drop it. Of caurse a bit slower but could still be fast enought [17:24:05] I ran into a few more issues [17:24:40] once I got to display multipolygons, (lakes with islands) [17:25:07] I came to the conclusion navit is missing something for Z order [17:25:33] that software that renders it correctly handles Z in another way [17:26:41] and second, if navit is keeping support for legacy hardware, multipolygons and areas from relations are a no go [17:27:13] Why the second? [17:27:19] similar as why the issue with the oceans is a no-go either [17:28:50] I also had the idea to buy modern relativ cheap hardware for navit to adopt navit to it to have a goto device that we can recommend to buy and know navit to work. What do you think, would this be a good idea? [17:34:03] we already have a port for cheap portable hardware, a 7 or 8 inch android tablet for € 78 :) [17:35:39] yes and no, this is not one device you can put in your car without additional afford. Also i thought of a target point of 35 to 45€ ( i know, this is really cheap) [17:40:48] jkoan: have you done anything on openstf? [17:41:09] ilovekiruna, not really, but have time now to work on it [17:42:53] i also had the idea for stf to become a farm without the need of a slave server. Dont know if it works, but if the device itself hast openvpn installed and wireless adb active the server should be able t connect to the device throught the vpn. Only theorie, but would be cool [17:43:20] jkoan: lol [17:43:27] i somehow had this moring the same idea [17:43:38] :D [17:44:12] i think that was also already partially mentioned on the stf website [17:44:20] adb connect [17:44:51] then the virtual slave would have to just run nmap in cron or somehow listen on openvpn for new connections [17:45:00] want to give it a try?
