[06:21:08] see my yesterday's question, trying to generate a 64 bit binfile map [06:22:30] Hi naggety [06:25:07] 64bit binfiles are not related to the pc architecture, it's related to the zipfile format. You can probably try to just use the normal zip format essentially if you have small areas. But generally 64bit should work. Probably a bug, can't verify it right now [06:26:09] I have a big area (all Europe) so I need 64 bits binfile [06:27:45] And I ask about PC architecture because I saw that executing maptool, seeing the output it's printing, an "int" variable is 32 bits [06:29:11] So 2 things here: Why the executable is (or seems to be) 32 bits built on a 64 bits OS? Do I need a 64 bits maptool executable to generate a 64 bits binfile? [06:30:18] For the second question, no. I also thought navit is not 64bit capable [06:30:49] s/navit/maptool/ [06:36:59] The executable is 64 bits, but it uses 32 bits ints [06:37:15] I always had asumed that int was 8 bytes in 64 bits architectures.... [06:40:12] Probably we need to fix something there. [06:40:37] Do you have the last version from trunk? [06:47:36] No, but it's 0.5.3 [06:48:18] Could you try trunk? [06:50:42] sure [06:53:59] Thx :) [07:09:36] Building. For the moment, I've found why I couldn't generate maps from pbf files the other day: I had missing protobuf-c-compiler and libprotobuf-c-dev dependencies [07:10:28] That makes sense :D [07:10:45] Lot of sense xD [07:14:54] Well, I've found the problem... ¬¬ [07:15:01] My hard disk is full [07:15:05] shame on me [07:17:25] This only partially can be the issue. What about the negative numbers? [07:18:32] I think that the negative numbers could be a minor bug. I'm starting a new binfile generation, and I'll tell you. It has finished phase one without errors. It show negative numbers, but as I've could seen in the code, it's just because this variables being 'int'm but they are only used to print the progress. They doesn't affect to the map creation. [12:30:48] To fix this minor bug, it would be enough to change 'int' for 'long' or 'long long' in maptool.c:70 [12:33:07] Why not unsigned int? [12:33:49] We don't have so much phases [12:37:06] It could be changed to unsigned int, but I don't know if it will be enough for entire planet or not. Also, the function used to print this value takes a long long argument. Finally, only 5 variables need to change its type, and they're global variables so maptool will just have a total increment of 60 bytes using 'long long' [12:37:41] It's up to you, personally I would change to 'long long' [14:32:44] *** Joins: gernot2 (5ed8374c@dslb-094-216-055-076.094.216.pools.vodafone-ip.de) [14:32:53] hi [14:40:32] Hi Gernot2 [14:40:59] hi jkoan [15:16:04] hi there [15:16:15] hi [15:53:01] hi [16:36:14] Has anyone thought about leaving the target mark on the map when you have reached the targetl?
