In the most easy setup you only install navit, and set up maps and GPS. For that we have guides in the wiki (wiki.navit-project.org) and Read the Docs (https://navit.readthedocs.io/en/latest/). If you encounter problems always feel free to ask within this chat :) [03:36:06] So I ran the .exe and it’s got literally nothing else but a blank screen and a terminal window open that I can’t even type in [03:37:00] The blank screen has a yellow color? [03:47:51] If so, just try to click it, then a menu should come up. This is the menu where you can do all the important stuff. You can then close navit and start to configure it. Basically you will need a map which you can download from maps.navit-project.org and a GPS receiver where you need to configure the corresponding COM port for the communication [04:41:17] so i'm terrible with command script, is there a certain directory I need to place this in? [05:14:18] Haha yes kazer I figured out what the smart mirrors actually were after watching one of the howto videos [05:15:04] Hi extor [05:17:06] hi jkoan [05:18:35] extor: in your time zone it is around evening, right? :D [05:24:53] yes around midnight [05:25:27] Well 12:25 [05:26:16] anything in terminal [05:26:22] I always feeling fascinated about time zones. Here in Germany it's 07:25 so I woke up not so long ago [05:27:23] @Johnathan no, nothing in terminal, but editing a file. The configuration file of navit. Not everything within navit is gui configurable [05:27:53] Yeah I woke up around 7 today also. Feels like ages ago. [05:31:00] extor: what I asked myself, if smartphones are forbidden, are standalone navigation systems also forbidden? [05:31:56] If they are attached to the windshield and/or obstructing the view of the driver then yes I think so. [05:32:25] That's bad :( [05:32:48] Yeah they do not trust drivers because of a few very irresponsible ones. [05:36:06] Yes, like always a few people doing bad things so all other people get the consequences [14:12:29] hi there [14:12:58] Johnathan: this is a good reminder that we need to implement map download from within navit on all platform.. sorry about that. we can help you though [14:26:38] Hi Kazer [14:40:59] *** Quits: xenos1984 (~xenos1984@2001:bb8:2002:200:6651:6ff:fe53:a120) (Quit: Leaving.)
