[10:24:18] Hi erilaz [10:24:25] that really depends a lot [10:25:42] *** Quits: extor (~extor@unaffiliated/extor) (Remote host closed the connection) [10:26:07] *** Joins: extor (~extor@unaffiliated/extor) [10:30:11] > that really depends a lot @IRC Gateway OK. I and others whould like compatibility woth a APRS reciver. [10:30:16] with* [10:30:31] APRS, and what it is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_Packet_Reporting_System [10:30:58] The information received from a APRS receiver should result in APRS symbols and callsigns showing up in the map. The APRS stations visible should be determined by a adjustable range filter(display only units that is inside xx kilometers range. Some stations that doesn't beacon that often needs to be stored in a database that could expire after a set time. I suggest 3600 seconds. For a example of moving stations, [10:30:58] go to: https://aprs.fi/moving/ (Click on any of them to show the map ) Map showing many stations: https://aprs.fi/#!mt=osm&z=4&call=&others=1&timerange=3600&tail=3600 [10:31:51] uh, that is already mentioned in https://github.com/navit-gps/navit/issues/982 😛 [10:32:16] right now I dont think anyone is actively working on it [10:32:48] but if one volunteers to support with the coding it can accelerate things a lot [10:32:51] Here's the thing with open-source projects (if I may be blunt): 1) You either wait for someone to do it (may take time if noone has an interest themselves) 2) You pay someone to do it 3) You do it yourself [10:32:59] öataches welcome :-) [10:33:28] @Robbi_Blechdose No problems.. I am happy to wait [10:33:29] patches welcom :-) [10:33:51] I cannot program at all ! [10:34:13] Which reminds me, @ ilovekiruna, is there any news on the Pi issue? Or should I put it on github? [10:34:26] I can also try to do something myself, it's just that I have 0 idea where to start [10:35:06] @Robbi_Blechdose: which one? Can you remind me? [10:35:18] @Robbi_Blechdose Try what ? [10:35:47] It stopped compiling 1% in, with some kind of OpenGL error [10:36:09] @erilaz I can program, but I don't know navit's code. Which means I could fix things myself given a few pointers [10:36:40] /home/pi/navit/navit/graphics/opengl/graphics_opengl.c:1563:19: error: ‘G_PRIORITY_DEFAULT’ undeclared (first use in this function); did you mean ‘G_NORMALIZE_DEFAULT’? g_timeout_add(G_PRIORITY_DEFAULT + 10, graphics_opengl_idle, NULL); ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ G_NORMALIZE_DEFAULT [10:36:43] Found it [10:39:17] @Robbi_Blechdose Aha ! The problem is that for the APRS stuff you will need some sort of receiver. Anything capable of audio output should work, If you can get software to decode the AX25 packages. Maybe direwolf or similar.. At least I am going to get myself a PicoAPRS soon. [10:39:42] @erilaz Ah, no... I'm not working on anything ARPS related [10:39:50] I'm just trying to get navit to run on a raspberry pi [10:40:23] http://www.picoaprs.de/index_en.html Should fit on the backside of a tablet computer, with double sided tape or similar [10:43:02] I could try to ask these folks if they want to write a patch that makes NAVIT compatible with APRS stuff : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-hams-devel [11:14:22] sorry was in another meeting [11:14:49] @erilaz: please remind me, what was the goal of the integration, only displaying? [11:23:16] > @erilaz: please remind me, what was the goal of the integration, only displaying? @IRC Gateway Yes, displaying other stations, and possible add routing to those who are stationary [11:29:34] > * https://github.com/navit-gps/navit/issues/982 [11:30:52] Some of the APRS stations sends out text messages in thrir beacons , like QRV 144.650 MHZ ( That is ham radio lingo for : I am reachable on 144.650 mhz ) [11:34:22] > https://aprs.fi/#!call=a%2FSQ9ITA-9&timerange=3600&tail=3600 He is currently moving.
