[05:57:10] Hi @Bizzmark [05:57:17] Hi there [06:00:15] I'm fairly new to Navit and RPi, so this is probably a silly question, but.. how do I get the latest version installed? It didn't update with my last apt full-upgrade. Or has it not been released for this yet? [06:04:11] Which Version habe you installed? [06:04:26] *have [06:09:45] 0.5.3 [06:22:47] Have you already updated to raspberry buster? [06:54:04] a, i see, buster has navit 0.5.3 and testing has 0.5.4, so your up to date from that perspective. If you want to have the most up to date version you could compile it yourself [06:59:34] Yep it's already v10 Buster. To be honest, I had to lookup the command to get the Linux version, so I'll probably need to wait for a release. It just seemed like 0.5.4 had a lot of good changes, but although I'm in the tech business, compiling code is far removed from my specialties. [07:05:30] you could also update to testing, but it could be unstable [08:20:27] I've done that, and my Pi's running really solid [08:20:50] Also, 0.5.4 is soo worth it [08:54:31] I figured that, with the changelog and all. But I just don't have time to learn compiling. Navit's just a backup for my OpenAuto anyway. [08:54:49] Appreciate the info [09:26:27] https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=212223 [09:26:39] This should work for you though if you decide to give it another shot [09:26:50] You won't have to compile navit yourself then [09:57:19] *** Quits: Navit (~Navit@ec2-34-214-224-248.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com) (Ping timeout: 265 seconds) [09:57:25] *** Joins: Navit (~Navit@ec2-34-214-224-248.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com) [09:57:25] *** ChanServ sets mode: +v Navit [17:37:02] Hi @jdba [19:34:58] Hi @KaZeR [21:39:53] Oh, so basically if I want a definitely-stable version of both Navit 0.5.4+ and RPi OS, I need to wait for a full release of the next version of RPi? They're never going to release 0.5.4 for Buster?
