In all cases so far, it _did_ create a route when at home, but I use a different way to the highway than Navit wants, and as soon as it calculated the new route, instructions were gone. [12:35:29] Tomorrow I'm going to drive a bunch of shorter trips, most of them with one or more waypoints, so I should at least be able to rule out that it actually does work as long as you follow the route [12:48:57] *** Quits: genesis (~genesis@unaffiliated/genesis) (Ping timeout: 272 seconds) [12:55:36] *** Joins: genesis (~genesis@unaffiliated/genesis) [12:55:36] *** ChanServ sets mode: +v genesis [14:24:46] > is there a way to get navit running with Android Auto yet? @Fireclaw as far I know, no, and currently I don't know if it is even possible to implement [14:27:04] @jkoan thanks for the answer. What would be required to know if it is possible to implement this feature? Or how/where would one start with this? [16:04:40] first its required to search if android auto has apis to build an app on, i have done this right now. Now i need to figurew out what it takes to add the support for this into navit and whats actually required to change. After that i need to see if i can test it myself [16:05:18] at dest it only some metadata [17:13:59] @Fireclaw the api lib (from google/android) is currently in beta... but it should be possible to write such an app. But the question is if it would be approved by google playstore to be available. But anyhow, please open an issue on github for if, i will add the informations i got later on [17:18:17] Ah, I see. Yeah, for the playstore I think it needs some special requirements dedicated to android auto apps. I think one was speech control which might be a larger task. [17:19:11] But if it'd be possible to at least get a sec build outside of the playstore, that'd also be something. Could probably also build that myself.
