Navitlogger is back? Seems CircleCI fixed it... Let's se for how long [12:44:55] hi all [12:45:02] whats up? 😄 [13:58:53] Hi @jkoan [13:59:06] Hi @ilovekiruna [13:59:20] How are things [13:59:52] Everything's well, thinking about navits future [13:59:56] I finally managed in a backup machine to fix the patch [14:00:08] Why? Anything to worry? [14:08:32] > Why? Anything to worry? @ilovekiruna a bit, we don't have a roadmap. So I want to start a release discussion. Also activity is quite low. For example @KaZeR is in my eyes the main project leader (if we have one at all) and he's not active much lately, which is of course totally all right from a personal perspective, but from the maintaining perspective this is worrying. Of course I try to do as much as [14:08:32] possible, but I am not the main driver of development. I am more of a maintainer so far, but lately stepped a bit more into development with some Plugins. Also we really need to step up the infrastructure work. I think this is ancient. Especially the map extractor [14:09:16] > I finally managed in a backup machine to fix the patch @ilovekiruna that's nice, already merged it. But why backup machine? I didn't remember, what happened to the main one? [14:09:36] My main laptop is down for two weeks or so [14:09:48] First had issues with a fan [14:10:18] Now I believe the heatpipe is broken or i just need to replace the heatpaste [14:10:24] Will figure out tomorrow [14:10:41] At least I don't dare to use my main machine right now [14:11:15] @jkoan were the whitespaces in my commit relevant? [14:11:47] I agree with you, kazer acted for pretty long time as a kind of lead [14:13:06] I think a roadmap would be nice. I also hope that rather sooner than later I can contribute a bit more again. [14:13:17] > Now I believe the heatpipe is broken or i just need to replace the heatpaste @ilovekiruna but at least no data loss, that's the import thing for me any way. Even with a backup solution in place it's annoying [14:13:45] > I think a roadmap would be nice. I also hope that rather sooner than later I can contribute a bit more again. @ilovekiruna contributions are always great :) [14:14:08] It is annoying and makes me less efficient. I run a live-usb on the computer I used as server before. My first goal would be to finish [14:14:21] Openstf cluster [14:14:43] > Openstf cluster @ilovekiruna that's on the infrastructure Todo as well, yes [14:15:01] Then I would really love to look into tts and stt [14:16:05] Because I believe it is an important topic for the future. I hate it that the only option so far would be google tts which doesn't align with our offline navigation. [14:16:14] > Then I would really love to look into tts and stt @ilovekiruna for that the mobian project had some open source voice assistance on there wishlist. I would rather implement thise [14:16:56] I was looking at deepspeech [14:16:57] Or common voice [14:17:29] I know of Mycroft but they have nothing convincing by themselves [14:17:34] Ah also for the future I think a good not to expensive device which is fully supported would be nice. [14:18:01] Also I would like to finally complete the swedish translation [14:18:46] Those would be my personal goals in navit right now [14:19:56] I would like to see the community more active. Sometimes it feels just like doing the whole maintenance for nobody... [14:20:25] That I can imagine [14:20:47] Btw, the issue with my computer is also the reason I dropped out of irc [14:21:00] That's why I find the APRS and geoclue issues so interesting, because there seemed to be much more interest than in other topics [14:21:04] Will hopefully return soon [14:22:24] For me IRC is much less important, because moste if the time I am only feeling alone in the room, writing to myself [14:22:40] *most of the time [15:12:09] I know the feeling [15:12:18] Sometimes I do the same [15:12:28] Good evening. [15:13:18] hi @C.H:~$ [15:13:50] Hi there : ) [15:22:07] whats up on you end? 😄 [15:22:23] I was reading above a while ago. Just thought to say, that il try to do the little i can, with / for Navit, but it will have to wait, for my part. Meanwhile, im here, interested, and able to answer atleast some of the questions that might rize from aprs topic. [15:23:27] @jkoan Making some 3D Drawings for the CNC Mill at work. Ive got some building project going on, and need to mill some stuff. What about you? : ) [15:26:05] i am thinking about the map extract server software and its rewrite, just dowloaded a hex editor (Okteta) with Struct support and try to learn more about the navit binary format and it we should be able to do a better extract with the avantages of modern hardware (like multi core). But so far the file is not loading in 😄 [15:27:46] okay, now got it loading [15:33:36] thats also a Problem, the navit binfile format uses a really old or probably even a broken zip firmat [15:33:39] *format [20:50:26] *** Joins: toma4 (~toma4@84.247.50.30)
